How it went / how it’s going.
Our buddy Tab had resorted to stuffing strings into his neck to keep it from shifting in the pocket. We yanked those out and installed dowels in the holes (alder in the body, maple in the neck), and reinstalled the neck screws into fresh wood. It’s now solid enough for Tab to give it his usual thrashing. Great success!
