Our former intern Grayson dropped by the shop for a visit! Grayson spent a month with us seven years ago as part of his senior project, and has since been wandering the globe working in conservation and woodworking gigs. We didn’t have the PLEK when he was last with us, so Aaron spent some time going over the process and showing all the cool new stuff. It was rad catching up and hearing of his adventures. *sniffle* They grow up so fast!

The winner of our last collaborative giveaway with highergroundmusic came in to claim their prize: a full set up and PLEK service!
This state of the art machine has the ability to precisely level and dress frets on guitars and other fretted instruments. The machine will scan the fingerboard and frets under string tension to capture detailed information about the fret positions, heights and the neck relief. The collected data is used to create a high resolution analysis of the frets and fingerboard and identify any problem areas.
The getplekd PLEK machine will level and radius the frets to a high degree of precision, for optimal playability, within an accuracy of .001 inches.

Woooow… diese #vintagemartinguitar von #1968 ist was ganz besonders ❤️ Assel Rüber war mein Sing und Zeichnungslehrer in der Oberstufe. Mit dieser Gitarre begleitete er auch im Unterricht. Ab und zu winkte er mich aus der Klasse und wir spielten in seinem Bandraum der ebenfalls in dem Gebäude war einen Blues zusammen. Er ist ein wahrer Musikliebhaber und Förderer 🙏 Diese Gitarre bekam vor Jahren ein wunderbaren #neckreset von den tollen Leuten diegitarre_winterthur 💪 Da die Gitarre nach den Jahren nicht mehr so gut intonierte durften wir ein #fretboardleveling und ein #refret durchführen. So eine Vintage Martin hat noch keinen verstellbaren #trussrod . Mit unserer Maschine können wir unter Saitenspannung das Griffbrett vermessen und auf die ideale Krümmung Fräsen. Die perfekte Grundlage für eine leicht bespielbare und Stimmige Gitarre. Alright, we see this far too often, so perhaps it’s time for a PSA: stop putting your Schaller straplocks on upside down! You don’t want the open end pointing towards the floor - the strap button should be supported from the bottom of the U-shape on the locking mechanism. If you have them upside down (like on this strap), the only thing stopping your guitar from plummeting to the floor is the small spring inside. Flip ‘em over, people!

Die #martinguitar #vs28 von jessie_wezel hatte ein grundlegendes Problem. Das Griffbrett machte eine grosse Steigung dort wo es auf den Korpus kommt. Gut zu sehen auf dem letzten Bild. Darum entfernten wir die Bünde und frästen das Griffbrett neu. Wir können mit unserer #plekmachine unter Saitenspannung die Messungen machen und auch die Bearbeitungen vornehmen. Danach die Neubundierung wo die Abrichtung ebenfalls mit der Maschine erfolgt. Wir wünschen dir viele weitere kreative Stunden und Momente mit deinem tollen Instrument .
