James Stäger brachte seine Stratocaster zu uns mit einem ziemlich heftigen Backbow und Twist im Hals – und das obwohl der Halsspannstab bereits komplett gelöst war.

Nach einigem Überlegen kamen wir auf die Idee, aus dem Einweg-Trussrod einen Zweiweg-Trussrod zu machen. Den Twist konnten wir durch präzises Fräsen korrigieren.

Das Projekt ist gelungen und der Hals konnte gerettet werden.

Viel Spass damit, James! 🎸

James Stäger brought his Stratocaster to us with a serious backbow and twist in the neck – even though the truss rod was already fully loosened.

After some thinking, we came up with the idea of converting the one-way truss rod into a two-way truss rod. The twist was corrected with careful routing.

The project was a success and the neck was saved.

I had a great time today at the parrisguitars Electric Guitar Setup Class, 2026. I "finally" learned the proper way to setup electric guitars, both with and without tremolos, adjust action and intonation, adjust pickup height, and much more.

Our instructors, Bryan Parris and Rance Singleton were top notch, and they took plenty of time to help each student. The entire experience was fun and informative, with plenty of hands-on training.

I highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn a proven, step-by-step system for setting up and maintaining your own guitars.

Over the years, we`ve come up with a bazillion solutions, and built tons of different tools to assist in centering and reattaching a completely severed headstock, and none of them have been completely ideal. This week we thought of a new one, which was embarrassing in just how completely obvious it was. We cut a sheet of plastic to sit flush with the face, and two holes to correspond to the truss rod cover holes. Set it, screw it down, and boom! Perfectly centered and ready to be glued and clamped. How did we not think of this before? Jeez.
